The design of my sideloading stoves is loosely based on vintage French designs. Sideloaders have two major advantages over front loading stoves; one is that turning the stove side on means I can fit a nice big window to view the fire, and the other is that it's possible to fit much longer logs than would be possible in a similar sized front loading stove. My sideloading stoves come in three basic sizes, but as with my other stove designs, they can be tailored to suit the space.
